In certain circumstances, you may JUST want a donation page which shows the amount that has been raised with no target or thermometer bar. For example, you are actually not sure how much will be raised for an appeal, so are a little reluctant to put a goal on the page but want the gamification element to show supporters of the amount that has been raised at one time.
The key here is for this to happen, you do indeed need the thermometer bar widget on the page but hidden. The reason? You will be still be using {{{bar.raised}}} which shows how much has been raised and need the Bar from the thermometer bar to help calculate this.
So, really the most important thing here is to work out where you will put the thermometer bar so it can be hidden. The best place for this, is the second cog underneath the donation form - this is reserved for the social media buttons on mobile but in this case, a great area for the hidden thermometer bar.
So let's go through some steps
1. You will see need the amount that has been raised (normally put above the donation form) but can be inserted everywhere. What's important is that you delete the goal (bar.goal) and the thermometer bar and also the percentage raised so far.
So essentially you just have this above the donation form (or something like this).
Now, we are going to look for the area where you can hide the thermometer bar.
So again, it's the second cog below the donation form (where the default says Share this campaign). We are going to delete this and instead include the thermometer bar.
Again, click on the plus sign and search for the most right widget which looks like a temperature gauge
This should replace the share widgets that are there. Now you can set up the thermometer bar as normal making sure you cater for all tracking links.
The last step is to hide this on mobile and desktop, by clicking the cog on the left.
Tick both boxes and it will be hidden now and you will have accomplished what you needed to do here. Just remember to publish the page when done.
