Restyling or Reformatting Text
The text editor on GiveEasy's Beautiful Donation pages gives you control over the style, size and colour of the text copy on your Appeal Page, Thank You Page or Receipt.
However, you may choose to work on your draft text in another program - e.g. Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, etc. and copy-and-paste the text into the page when you are happy with the content.
When you copy text between programs, you may find that the formatting or style does not get transferred over correctly. There are also some situations where the style or formatting of the text in the page editor can become broken or stuck.
How to reset the formatting of a sentence/paragraph:
If you need to clear or reset the formatting of some text:
- Edit a text block by clicking on the pen
icon
- Highlight the paragraph (including leading and trailing whitespace)
- Cut (CTRL/CMD + X) the text from the editor or external program - this will remove the block of text.
- Apply the changes to the text block with the tick
icon
- Edit the text block again with the pen
icon
- Click to place the cursor where you want to insert the text (use the arrow keys to position the cursor if necessary)
- Paste Without Formatting (CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + V) to insert the text you cut in Step 3
- The unformatted text can then be styled with the editor controls to match your design.
How to reset the formatting of an entire block of text:
If a whole block of text needs to be cleared/reset:
- Edit a text block by clicking on the pen
icon
- All of the text in the block is selected by default.
- Cut (CTRL/CMD + X) the text from the editor or external program - this will remove the block of text.
- Paste Without Formatting (CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + V) to insert the text you cut in Step 3
- The unformatted text can then be styled with the editor controls to match your design.
- Apply the changes to the text block with the tick
icon
